چکیده
Van Hove's " λ 2 t " limit in nonrelativistic and relativistic field-theoretical models Abstract Van Hove's " λ 2 t " limiting procedure is analyzed in some interesting quantum field theoretical cases, both in nonrelativistic and relativistic models. We look at the deviations from a purely exponential behavior in a decay process and discuss the subtle issues of state preparation and initial time.

Deviations from exponential law and Van Hove ’ s “ λ 2 t ” limit
The deviations from a purely exponential behavior in a decay process are analyzed in relation to Van Hove's " λ 2 t " limiting procedure. Our attention is focused on the effects that arise when the coupling constant is small but nonvanishing. We first consider a simple model (two-level atom in interaction with the electromagnetic field), then gradually extend our analysis to a more general fram...
متن کاملRelativistic mean - field description of light Λ hypernuclei with large neutron excess
The Relativistic Hartree Bogoliubov model in coordinate space, with finite range pairing interaction, is applied to the description of Λ-hypernuclei with a large neutron excess. The addition of the Λ hyperon to Ne isotopes with neutron halo can shift the neutron drip by stabilizing an otherwise unbound core nucleus. The additional binding of the halo neutrons to the core originates from the inc...
متن کاملThe nonrelativistic limit of the relativistic point coupling model
We relate the relativistic finite range mean-field model (RMF-FR) to the point-coupling variant and compare the nonlinear density dependence. From this, the effective Hamiltonian of the nonlinear point-coupling model in the nonrelativistic limit is derived. Different from the nonrelativistic models, the nonlinearity in the relativistic models automatically yields contributions in the form of a ...
متن کاملFacets of the Spinless Salpeter Equation
The spinless Salpeter equation represents the simplest, and most straightforward, generalization of the Schrödinger equation of standard nonrelativistic quantum theory towards the inclusion of relativistic kinematics. Moreover, it can be also regarded as a well-defined approximation to the Bethe–Salpeter formalism for descriptions of bound states in relativistic quantum field theories. The corr...
متن کاملOn the origin and contribution of the diamagnetic term in four-component relativistic calculations of magnetic properties
The relativistic Dirac Hamiltonian that describes the motion of electrons in a magnetic field contains only paramagnetic terms ~i.e., terms linear in the vector potential A! while the corresponding nonrelativistic Schrödinger Hamiltonian also contains diamagnetic terms ~i.e., those from an A operator!. We demonstrate that all diamagnetic terms relativistically arise from second-order perturbati...
